Usual\u00adly all it needs is a simp\u00adle ser\u00advice wit\u00adhout spa\u00adre parts. With the fol\u00adlo\u00adwing tips you can check for yours\u00adelf in a few minu\u00adtes whe\u00adther your clock has per\u00adhaps just been locked by acci\u00addent or is not stan\u00adding level \u2013 or whe\u00adther it real\u00adly belongs in the workshop.<\/p>\n<h2>How the Atmos powers itself<\/h2>\n<p>Insi\u00adde the Atmos sits a her\u00adme\u00adti\u00adcal\u00adly sea\u00adled cap\u00adsu\u00adle fil\u00adled with a gas mix\u00adtu\u00adre. When the room tem\u00adpe\u00adra\u00adtu\u00adre rises, the gas expands; when it falls, the gas con\u00adtracts. This tiny move\u00adment con\u00adti\u00adnuous\u00adly winds the mainspring.<\/p>\n<p class=\"aa-absatz-ende\">A chan\u00adge in tem\u00adpe\u00adra\u00adtu\u00adre of only about one degree is enough for rough\u00adly two days of power reser\u00adve. The pen\u00addulum is a tor\u00adsi\u00adon pen\u00addulum: it turns very slow\u00adly back and forth and needs hard\u00adly any ener\u00adgy to do so. That is exact\u00adly why the clock reacts so sen\u00adsi\u00adtively when the pen\u00addulum can\u00adnot swing freely.<\/p>\n<h2>What you can check yourself<\/h2>\n<p>Go through the\u00adse points one after the other. The most com\u00admon cau\u00adses come&nbsp;first.<\/p>\n<ol class=\"aa-schritte\">\n<li>\n<h3>Is the pen\u00addulum still locked?<\/h3>\n<p>For trans\u00adport, the pen\u00addulum is locked with a small lever. Depen\u00adding on the model, it sits under the move\u00adment or on the under\u00adsi\u00adde of the clock. Typi\u00adcal&nbsp;signs:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"aa-punkte-liste\">\n<li>The pen\u00addulum keeps stop\u00adping after a few&nbsp;hours.<\/li>\n<li>The pen\u00addulum hangs croo\u00adked, wob\u00adbles or drags on the base. Then the fine sus\u00adpen\u00adsi\u00adon wire has often broken.<\/li>\n<li>The clock never starts, even though it has stood in one place with nor\u00admal tem\u00adpe\u00adra\u00adtu\u00adre chan\u00adges for weeks or months. Then the cap\u00adsu\u00adle may be leaking.<\/li>\n<li>The clock runs but does not keep time and can no lon\u00adger be regu\u00adla\u00adted. Then it needs eit\u00adher a ser\u00advice or a new sus\u00adpen\u00adsi\u00adon spring.<\/li>\n<li>The last ser\u00advice was many years or deca\u00addes ago.
